Mesothelioma or Asbestos Question?

Mesothelioma Clinical Trial Results Reported

Alfacell, the company that makes the chemotherapy drug Oncanase, has reported the results of its Phase III B clinical trial for treatment of malignant mesothelioma. According to the company, the trial did not meet their standards for overall survival.

However, the trial did have some good news. Patients who had not responded to chemotherapy treatments previously had an overall survival rate of 10.5 months. Because of this, Alfacell hopes to use Oncanase as a second line treatment in patients with inoperable mesothelioma tumors.
