Parents whose children go to school in Illinois are concerned over the asbestos that was found in the school and how officials want to remove it while school is still in session.
In March, parents were notified by letter that the high school where their children attend will be undergoing asbestos removal over the next three months. The letter also stated that they should not be worried because the air quality would not be compromised.
Parents began to write letters to express their concern, but they were told that environmental experts would oversee the project and the removal will only being in the late afternoon and evening hours. Officials have also said that the air quality will be measured and if there is any sign of danger, classes will be canceled.
