Mesothelioma or Asbestos Question?

Austin neighborhood raises concern over building containing asbestos

An asbestos-laden building that will be demolished at the corner of Fairway Street and Montopolis Drive has raised concerns that people in the area may be exposed to the harmful fibers, myfoxaustin.com reported on February 18.

Danny Perez, who was aware that the vacant building contained asbestos, expressed concern that the neighborhood was not properly warned by the City of Austin that the building will be torn down anytime soon. However, A & R Demolition is set to demolish the establishment with M and Jo Abatement assigned to remove the asbestos. A representative supervising the asbestos removal process said workers will wear dusk masks while working.

If inhaled, asbestos fibers can cause serious health problems that usually affect the respiratory system. To learn more about these harmful fibers and the effects they can have, fill out the contact form on the top of this page today.
