Mesothelioma or Asbestos Question?

Mesothelioma victim's daughter starts charity in father's honor

The daughter of a mesothelioma victim has started a charity in her father’s name to raise awareness of the rare cancer.

The woman’s father was diagnosed with mesothelioma in 2006 after being rushed to the hospital, following an incident in which he collapsed and complained of breathlessness. Two years later, her father died at the age of 60. She and her family members began the charity to raise awareness and to cope with the loss of their loved one.

Her father’s mesothelioma has been attributed to his early career days working in a shipyard during the 1960s and 70s. Like many shipyards at this time, the workers were exposed to asbestos-laden materials as part of their job.
