Mesothelioma or Asbestos Question?

Inmates cite asbestos in South Carolina prison

Jail inmates in a South Carolina prison file a lawsuit in a federal court citing substandard living conditions including asbestos findings in the floor tiles of the detention facility.

The 11 inmates who filed the suit also state that there is mold, low quality of food, lack of emergency call systems in the jail cells. Most of the inmates who filed the suit are being help for failure to pay child support.

Exposure to asbestos can lead to serious health issues such as a rare and aggressive lung cancer, mesothelioma. Mesothelioma can remain dormant for up to 50 years before symptoms are noticed.
