Mesothelioma or Asbestos Question?

Students and school staff likely exposed to asbestos in Cedar Rapids

Reports coming from Iowa State authorities say that Washington High School students and employees were possibly exposed to harmful asbestos during a renovation project in 2014. According to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the Cedar Rapids Community School District and an asbestos removal company failed to safely remove and treat asbestos-laden materials before conducting renovations.

A legal action is being planned by the DNR after discovering that students and school employees were placed at risk of exposure as many as three times during the renovation project. The school district claimed they never compromised the safety of their students and employees during the project, and officials have stated that there have been no reports of those involved testing positive for asbestos exposure.

Asbestos is an incredibly dangerous and pervasive chemical that can cause serious illnesses in those exposed to its dust. If you or a loved one is suffering from mesothelioma after being exposed to asbestos, you may be entitled to compensation for medical treatments and suffering.
