Mesothelioma or Asbestos Question?

Asbestos removal company alleged of defrauding Washington State

Due to several fraud suspicions related to asbestos waste disposal, five charges were recently filed against a company and its owner in Chelan County, a January 3 article of Construction & Demolition Recycling reported.

According to reports, Attorney General Bob Ferguson accused Timothy Powell of giving falsified papers regarding asbestos abatement jobs done by his company, A1 Asbestos LLC. Powell’s company reportedly attempted to reduce production costs by avoiding the necessary worksite safety inspections required by the state’s Department of Labor & Industries. Charges revealed that A1 Asbestos had paid a single asbestos disposal fee to a dump site by combining the removed asbestos from several projects into one. Powell could face imprisonment of up to five years and may need to settle a $5,000 fine if found guilty of the charges.
