Mesothelioma or Asbestos Question?

Wrongful death mesothelioma suit ends in $9 million settlement

A $9 million settlement has just been awarded to the family of a former employee of Dow Chemical who died of mesothelioma.

The Dallas, Texas man worked for years as a contract employee where he was allegedly exposed to asbestos. The man was later diagnosed with mesothlelioma, which later took his life. The asbestos was on the insulators that Dow used regularly.

According to the lawsuit, allegations state that Dow Chemical knew in 1968 that mesothelioma was attributed to asbestos exposure but continued to let workers be exposed to the material. The family that filed the suit was awarded $9 million for the death of their family member because the jury determined that Dow Chemical was 30 percent responsible for his death.
